Description The Bacillus subtilis strain Miz-8 isolated from fermented soybean food "Bekang" which is a traditional food consumed by the Northeast part of India. The strain produced extracellular enzymes like protease, amylase, cellulase and biofilm. The lipopeptides like surfactin and fengycin were also detected by PCR, indicating potential antimicrobial activity against pathogens. To find out additional features of this strain we performed whole genome sequencing.
