Description The goal of this study is to identify and describe novel taxonomic lineages, which contributes directly to the goal of expanding the microbial tree of life; to identify thermal and alkaline-stable enzymes used by these organisms to hydrolyze different types of biomass constituents; and to investigate drivers of microbial community assembly in hot spring environments.
