Description
![]() |
Many recent studies have reported that persistent E. coli population in soils and sediments in the absence of fecal input. As it has been estimated that on the global scale half of the total population of naturally occurring E. coli exist outside the animal hosts, the study of E. coli in the natural environment is essential to the understanding of the evolution and lifestyle of the species as a whole. |
