Leisingera aquaemixtae is a member of the family Rhodobacteraceae reclassified in 2014 by Breider et al. as a comb. nov. of Phaeobacter aquaemixtae described in 2014 by Park et al. Genome sequencing of Leisingera aquaemixtae CECT 8399 was done using the Illumina MiSeq system by the Central Service of Support to Experimental Research (SCSIE) of the University of Valencia (Spain).
