NCBI BioProject Name In 2017, an outbreak of infections with clinical symptoms related to Mycobacteriosis was recorded in some fish, namely Dicentrarchus labrax reared in aquacultures. Most of the diseased fish showed granulomatous lesions observed mainly in the spleen with numerous acid-fast bacteria present. Some of the infected fish had pale kidneys and anaemic gills as well. We succeeded in isolating this causative agent from the spleen of a diseased fish and we hereby report the draft genome sequence of M. hippocampi DL strain.
