NCBI BioProject Name | Finegoldia bacteria are Gram-Positive Anaerobic Cocci (GPAC) which are part of the human skin microbiome, and are thought to guard tissue homeostasis by regulating host defense mechanisms. From the skin of healthy human volunteers (backside of the lower leg), we isolated and sequenced two new and currently unknown Finegoldia nericia strains: RUMC1 and RUMC2; and we re-sequenced and re-annotated type strain Finegoldia nericia DSM 20470 (also referred to as ATCC 15794, formerly classified as Finegoldia magna). |
