NCBI BioProject Name | Anana Salt Valley located in Spain comprises seawater origin salt pans from the Triassic period. The origin of this hypersaline environment is explained by the geological phenomenon known as diapir. However, despite the historical and cultural importance of this environment, there is poor microbiological knowledge of it nowadays. The study of the microbial biodiversity of the saline and hipersaline water of the valley, allows to study the importance of the microorganisms in the salt production pathway, and also to gain knowledge about the ecological relevance of the saline microbiological population. |
