Candidatus Nitrosocosmicus exaquare G61 is a novel representative of the Thaumarchaeota. It is an ammonia-oxidizing archaeon, and it originates from a municipal wastewater treatment plant. It was been enriched to >99%, and this project reports the complete sequence of its genome.
