In the course of studying microorganisms from plants, a novel strain VKM Ac-2596 of rathayibacters was isolated from the leaf gall induced by nematode Aphelenchoides sp. on Tanacetum sp. (Moscow region, Russia, 2000). Isolation of bacterium was carried out as described by Dorofeeva et al. (2002)
