Project Description
![]() |
This project aims to conduct genomic and functional analysis of the Brazilian isolate of N. spumigena CENA596 to identify the gene cluster and evaluate the production of the hepatotoxin nodularin. This study will contribute to the understanding of the genetic, ecological and evolutionary factors related to nodularin production by cyanobacteria and also for the development of rapid and sensitive methods for the detection and monitoring of cyanobacteria and their toxins in the environment.
