Project Description
![]() |
Nitrospira inopinata is the first cultured complete ammonia oxidizer (comammox) organism. This chemolithoautotrophic bacterium grows by oxidizing ammonia to nitrate, and thus it unifies both steps of the nitrification process in one organism.
