Labrenzia alba is a member of the family Rhodobacteraceae reclassified in 2007 by Biebl et al. as a comb. nov. of Stappia alba described in 2005 by Pujalte et al. Genome sequencing of Labrenzia alba CECT 5096 was done using the Illumina Miseq system by the Central Service of Support to Experimental Research (SCSIE) of the University of Valencia (Spain).
