Pyrinomonas methylaliphatogenes strain K22 was isolated from geothermally heated soils from the fumaroles on the flank of Mt Ngauruhoe, New Zealand. The GenBank[EMBL/DDBJ] accession number for the 16S rRNA gene sequence of Pyrinomonas methylaliphatogenes is AM749787. Strain K22 is the type strain of Pyrinomonas methylaliphatogenes, which in turn is the type species of the genus Pyrinomonas. Here we present the annotated genome of strain K22, consisting of 22 contigs with a total length of 3800484 nt. The original sequencing reads, produced by 454 GS Junior and Illumina MiSeq sequencing are also included.
