This project plans to sequence the genomes of bacteria with the ability to degrade chemical compounds including trichloroethene, petroleum hydrocarbons, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), polycyclic aromatic compounds (PACs), etc. The genome information is expected to give new insights into key metabolic pathways and bacterial adaptation to degrade chemicals.
