Project Description
Phaeobacter gallaeciensis 2.10 has been shown to protect scallop larvae from Vibrio infection and is being sequenced for comparative genome analysis. Phaeobacter inhibens 2.10 does not contain bacteriochlorophyll a, has been isolated frequently from marine surfaces and possesses unique bio-inhibitory activities. Phaeobacter gallaeciensis 2.10 is a powerful competitor for Pseudoaltermonas tunicata in the formation of surface-associated biofilms and colonisation of marine algae.
