Isolate was obtained using R2A medium at 27 C for 7 days. The original source is an established biofilm attached on the surface of a copper coupon incubated in a CDC reactor receiving water from a chloraminated drinking water distribution system simulator. The sample was collected during an episode of nitrification (i.e. failure of the system).
