Description

The objectives of this study are: 1) To characterize the compositional variation and specificity of bacterial endophytes across all extant Azolla species. 2) To assess whether hosts and their endophytes show evolutionary congruence consistent with co-speciation. 3) To identify shared or convergent genomic signatures of adaptation to a completely endophytic lifestyle (e.g., gene loss, fragmentation, horizontal transfer). |
