Description In this project, marine bacterial isolates extracted from gut of sea cucumbers, are screened for an ability to modify fucoidan preparations from Sargassum mcclueri and Turbinaria ornata. The genome sequencing is carried out to evaluate strains' potential for depolymerization of marine polysaccharides like alginate and fucoidan, and to facilitate discovery of novel variants of fucoidan-modifying enzymes.
