Description Bacillus thuringiensis is an insect pathogen which is widely used as a biopesticide due to its various endogenous crystal proteins and spores. BMB171 strain has a high transformation frequency, up to 107 transformants per microgram DNA as well as a high stability, and was widely used as the recipient strain for crystal proteins expression, cell surface display, gene function and regulation research.
