Phaeobacter is a genus of the family Rhodobacteraceae described in 2006 by Martens et al. Genome sequencing of Phaeobacter sp. CECT 7735 was done using the Illumina MiSeq system by the Central Service of Support to Experimental Research (SCSIE) of the University of Valencia (Spain).
