Project Description
Strain TSA66 was isolated from a rice paddy soil. This strain can reduce NO3 and N2O to N2 gas but cannot fix N2. Strain TSA66 represents a novel species in new genus, for which we propose the name Denitrospirillum succinoxidans gen. nov., sp. nov. Genome information of strain TSA66 would provide insights into the function and evolution of this agriculturally important microorganism.
