Project Description
Mycoplasma haemofelis, formerly Haemobartonella felis, causes an infectious anemia in cats. Antibiotic treatment can control acute infection, although latent infection persists. This disease is most commonly transmitted by infected fleas, however it may also be transmitted from a mother cat to her kittens, and through bites. genomic DNA purified from host (Felis catus) tissue (as per HQ267766) This will be the first haemoplasma genome to be fully sequenced and annotated.
