Project Description
The haemoplasmas comprise uncultivatable haemotropic bacteria within the genus Mycoplasma. The feline haemoplasma 'Candidatus Mycoplasma haemominutum' was identified as being distinct from what is now Mycoplasma haemofelis on the basis of 16S ribosomal RNA gene sequence data comparison. 'Ca. M. haemominutum' is the most prevalent of the feline-infecting haemoplasmas, and doesn't usually result in clinical disease in immunocompetent cats but decreases in haematocrit have been reported
