Project Description
Clostridium sporogenes is a gram positive, rod shaped, endospore-forming bacterium. An obligate anaerobe, it is widely used in the food and healthcare industry to test food preservation and disinfection procedures against clostridial spores. Strain NCIMB 10696 (Hall388 McClung2004) was isolated from soil and has potential as a delivery vehicle for treating solid tumours.
